Sander Ricou

Software Engineer – Data & Algorithms Team

Q: Describe a typical day in your role?
A: “As part of the data and algorithms team, I work on bringing the most performant body tracking stack to our products and make it a priority to collect and analyse the right data to improve the MindMaze solution. We’re an enabling team for the rest of the company and need to understand the challenges our patients encounter so we can propose meaningful features.”

Q: What’s the MindMaze project or solution you’re most proud of?
A: “The next one! The whole MindMaze solution is very exciting to work on and provides an opportunity to be committed to a high-impact project that may help thousands of people. Now, I’m focusing on MindMotion GO, a digital neuro-therapeutics based on body tracking. This product allows patients to do gamified neuro-rehabilitation at home, and gives them the opportunity to maximise their therapy time while still enjoying it.”

Q: Describe MindMaze in three words?
A: “Committed. Expert. Passionate.”

Q: What would people be surprised to know about you?
A: “I can’t stay without a goal. I like to fill my days with challenges and I’m continually looking for new adventures! From cold water immersion, to apartment renovations and hiking in autonomy for weeks. This mindset shapes my approach to work: I’m eager to tackle new problems and take on responsibility.”

Q: At the weekend, I love to…?
A: “…do a lot of sport: hiking, ski touring, cycling and running. It’s a very good way to discover Switzerland and its beautiful nature.”

Q: You have three spaces at your dinner party table. Who do you invite and why?
A: “Romain Gavras (French film director) to know more about his next movie, Roman Frayssinet (French comedian) to let him fill the room with sharp humour, and Dr. Valérie Masson-Delmotte (French climatologist) to discuss the most challenging issue of our time.”
