[GDC] Medical firm plays ‘mind games’ to help injured patients

A Swiss health care startup that helps victims of strokes and serious injuries is adapting neuroscience to create mind-bending virtual reality video games.

The prototype MindLeap technology, which will be unveiled Wednesday at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, can trick a player’s mind into believing his fingertips are on fire.

“It’s a whole new kind of gaming,” said Tej Tadi, CEO of MindMaze of Lausanne, Switzerland. “We think game developers and enthusiasts are going to pick this up.”
