Dr. Tej Tadi is an Electronics Engineer and has pursued an advanced master in Virtual Reality & Computer Graphics at The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland. During his PhD (EPFL), he set up an immersive virtual reality system in combination with state-of-the-art brain imaging technologies enabling
trans-disciplinary work in cognitive psychology, neuroimaging, and virtual reality. His research has led to important and highly visible scientific publications (Science) and awards (Pfizer Award for Neuroscience in 2009). Through his research, he has built a strong multi-disciplinary base spanning computer science, systems biology, neuroimaging,
and computational and cognitive neuroscience. He founded MindMaze in 2011 to design and develop novel applications in Neuro-Rehabilitation, Game training & Interfaces. The technology platform from MindMaze will help in the neurology, psychiatry and sports rehabilitation.
Prior joining MindMaze in June 2016, Elmar served as a non-executive director, Chairman and CEO of Cardiorentis Ltd., a biopharmaceutical company, from 2011 until 2015. From 2003 to 2011, Elmar held various positions at Merck KGaA, a global pharmaceutical and chemical group. In 2006, he was appointed as a member of the Executive
Board and General Partner of Merck KGaA, with responsibility for global pharmaceutical activities, and served in this position until 2011. Prior to Merck KGaA, Elmar held senior positions in strategy, business development and marketing at UCB SA, Sanofi-Synthélabo SA, Migliara/Kaplan Associates, Inc. and Fisons Pharmaceuticals PLC.
In addition, Mr. Schnee currently serves on the board of directors of Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc and four privately held life sciences companies. Mr. Schnee holds both a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in marketing and general management from the Swiss Institute of Business Administration in Zurich.
With more than 20 years of healthcare and medical device industry experience, Walid is also a technology venture investor and advises several global private equity firms. Previously, he held significant leadership roles at Cardinal Health, as President, International MPS and Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate development,
International. Prior to that, he worked for Medtronic Europe as Head of Business Development and Head of Finance, CRM, and started his career at Procter & Gamble in Brand Management.
Walid holds an MBA from the Wharton School, a Master of Law from Universiy of Paris and is also a graduate from "Science Po", the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.
Mr. Nunu G. Tadesse, Swiss national of Ethiopian origin, completed his Bachelors in Economics at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst before pursuing a post graduate education in Accounting and Marketing at Webster University in Geneva Switzerland. His extensive 23 year career includes being the CFO of Index Ventures in Geneva for 9 years being the CFO of The Gates Foundation - Coffee Initiative for 3 years in Ethiopia, being a Financial Analyst for Medtronic Europe in Tolochenaz (Switzerland) for 2 years and being an Audit Manager at Price Waterhouse in Geneva for 7 years. He has completed the certificate stage of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
– UK and was a former member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) of Montvale, New Jersey. Mr. Tadesse has also served on the board of directors of 3 Venture Management companies and 2 Life Science companies in Switzerland.
